Establishing social media outlets for community connection
Jet Marketing has provided marketing support for Yuma District Hospital in Yuma, Colorado since 2012. A few years back, we revamped the hospital’s website and launched a campaign to promote providers and encourage people to stay in town for their care. The campaign included coordinated print ads, banners, mailings, service brochures—and establishing social media outlets.
We created a Facebook and Twitter account for the hospital as a platform to engage the community in a meaningful way. It quickly gained traction and, because news sources are limited in the area, filled a need for people to stay connected with the community around health topics, events and hospital happenings. Responses to posts remain high, and we continue to see increased levels of community engagement as we monitor and manage the hospital’s social media presence.
Getting expectant moms engaged via web and social
We launched a social media campaign to raise awareness for birthing services offered at Memorial Regional Health. In this campaign, we followed two local, pregnant women through pregnancy, telling their stories via video, website journal-type entries, photos, social media and related collateral. The moms, both well known in the community, enthusiastically praised the health system and their doctors and both had healthy baby girls, which we documented.
Our campaign helped increase volume by 62%, going from 18 deliveries a month to 29 deliveries per month, one year later. This increase has sustained as new moms share about the good care they received at MRH with friends and neighbors. The campaign won a merit award at the 32nd Healthcare Advertising Awards through Ragan’s Health Care.
